Job Summary

This role involves working in a high-security nuclear decommissioning environment at the Jülich Waste Management Society (JEN). As a Service Technician for Radiation Protection and Measurement Technology, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and calibration of complex radiation monitoring systems, including contamination monitors and room air surveillance equipment. You will perform technical adjustments, such as replacing detectors and cabling, and ensure all systems are properly configured and documented. The position requires working within controlled areas under strict safety protocols. This is a unique opportunity to apply technical expertise in a safety-critical high-tech environment, offering a structured 38.5-hour work week with no weekend work and long-term career perspectives in nuclear technology projects.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems (Elektroniker für Geräte und Systeme) or a comparable qualification with additional certification as a Qualified Electrician (Elektrofachkraft).

Experience

  • Professional experience in the maintenance, testing, and repair of measurement systems
  • Experience in radiation protection measurement technology or similar safety-critical environments is highly preferred
  • Experience working within controlled areas under strict safety regulations
  • Proven reliability and safety awareness in a technical environment

  • Valid radiation pass (Strahlenpass) and classification as a category A occupationally exposed person; Reliability check according to §12b AtG (Category I); Occupational health screenings (G20, G25, G26.2); Driving license class B; Willingness to undergo incorporation monitoring.
