Job Summary
As the Product Owner for the Education Management System (BMS) at the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), you will serve as the critical bridge between technical departments and IT operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve ensuring a stable, user-friendly software environment by coordinating with software manufacturers and internal IT teams to manage updates, patches, and release cycles. You will provide 2nd-level support, manage user rights and security concepts, and develop reports and documentation. The role is highly collaborative, requiring you to consult with internal stakeholders to map business processes into the system. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of technical administration and strategic product development. It offers the unique opportunity to work within a high-level federal authority, contributing to the modernization of educational processes in a meaningful public service context.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor or Diploma) in Administrative Informatics, Business Informatics, or a STEM field with an IT focus; alternatively, a completed IT vocational training with at least three years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in coordinating diverse stakeholders and providing user support for educational or comparable software products
- Experience in 2nd-level support and coordinating 3rd-level support with external service providers
- At least 3 years of professional experience in an IT-oriented role (required if applying without a university degree)
- Experience in creating IT security and data protection concepts
Languages
Additional
- Willingness to undertake occasional domestic business trips (2-3 times per year for 1-2 days) for workshops with software manufacturers. The position is limited to a 3-year fixed-term contract.
