Job Summary
As a Research Engineer at Siemens Healthineers, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future architecture of medical imaging systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve technology evaluation and prototyping for high-performance data acquisition systems, including wired, optical, and wireless multi-gigabit technologies, alongside Ethernet/IP-based control systems. You will conduct technical and commercial risk analyses, scout emerging market trends, and collaborate closely with internal and external partners to drive standardization. This role is ideal for experts in signal theory and network communication who enjoy working at the intersection of hardware and modern software development. Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, Physics, Mathematics, or a comparable field. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree combined with extensive professional experience or a PhD.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in network communication (Ethernet/IP), signal theory, and digital signal processing
- Experience with Linux-based systems, embedded systems, and System-on-Chips
- Practical experience in software development using C/C++ and Python
- Experience in HDL/HLS and FPGA development (preferred)
- Professional experience in technical and commercial risk analysis and documentation
