Job Summary

This dual-responsibility role at the North Rhine-Westphalia Police Training Office (LAFP NRW) involves both the pedagogical delivery of IT training and the technical administration of specialized educational networks. Day-to-day, you will prepare and conduct training sessions on operating systems and networks, develop modern IT curriculum, and evaluate learning outcomes. Simultaneously, you will manage the technical infrastructure of training platforms, which includes installing hardware and software, administering Windows networks, and ensuring system security in compliance with BSI standards. The role is ideal for technical professionals who enjoy both hands-on systems administration and knowledge transfer. Based in Selm, this permanent position offers the stability of the German public service (TV-L EG 10) and the opportunity to contribute directly to the professional development of the state's police force through digital competence building.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Computer Science/IT, or Vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration, or State-certified IT Assistant, or System Electronics Technician qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT training or education is highly desirable
  • 1+ year of relevant professional experience required if holding a vocational IT qualification (e.g., IT Assistant or System Electronics Technician)
  • 2+ years of experience in general school teaching for science/IT subjects is an alternative qualifying pathway
  • Experience in managing specialized IT training platforms and educational networks
  • Experience in network administration and data backup
