Job Summary

This position is based at the Federal Institute of Hydrology (BfG) in Koblenz within the 'Geodata Center, WasserBLIcK, GRDC' unit. As a Scientific Researcher, you will play a pivotal role in the 'MUDAB' research project, focusing on the conception and provision of integrative data products derived from hydrological databases. Your daily responsibilities include the further development of specialized technical applications, integrating electronic interfaces into technical procedures, and managing project partners and procurement processes. This role is ideal for professionals with a background in Geoinformatics or Hydrology who enjoy working at the intersection of data science and environmental research. Required Skills

Education

University Degree (University Diploma/Master's) in Geoinformatics, Computer Science, Geosciences, Engineering, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in data management
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools
  • Programming experience is advantageous
  • Experience in hydrology or water sciences is advantageous
  • Experience in managing project partners and handling procurement/orders

  • The position is part-time (31.2 hours per week) and fixed-term until June 30, 2030. Candidates with foreign degrees must provide recognition from the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB). Location: Koblenz, Germany.
