Job Summary

This is a prestigious two-year postdoctoral position within the 'CASA: Securing the Digital Society' Cluster of Excellence at Ruhr-University Bochum. As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will conduct high-level independent research under the mentorship of a Principal Investigator, focusing on strengthening the resilience of digital society against disruptive technologies like AI and quantum computing. Your day-to-day will involve performing interdisciplinary research, collaborating with experts across computer science, cryptography, and psychology, and producing high-impact publications. The role is unique for its holistic, interdisciplinary approach and its location at the Horst Görtz Institute for IT Security (HGI), one of Europe's leading hubs for cybersecurity. Required Skills

Education

Above-average Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Psychology (with technology focus), or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Professional experience in conducting independent research at the postdoctoral level
  • Proven track record of publishing relevant papers at leading conferences in cryptography and computer security (e.g., CSRankings levels)
  • Experience in one or more core CASA research areas such as decentralized security or hardware security
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary environments involving computer science, engineering, or psychology
