Job Summary

As the Lead Transfer Manager at the Horst Görtz Institute for IT Security (HGI), you will spearhead the bridge between cutting-edge research and the commercial startup ecosystem. You will provide lateral leadership to the transfer team, coordinating strategic initiatives for the CUBE 5 incubator and the 6GEMCubator. Your day-to-day involves networking with venture capitalists, business angels, and industrial partners to turn visionary deep-tech ideas into market-ready companies. You will design inspiring events for founders, manage outreach programs to scout IT security talent, and drive fundraising and alumni relations. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in the energy of a startup ecosystem and enjoys translating complex technical innovation into entrepreneurial success. Based in Bochum, this position offers a unique opportunity to shape one of Europe's leading cybersecurity hubs and foster the next generation of digital security pioneers.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed university degree (Master's or University Diploma) in IT Security, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Economics, Humanities, or Social Sciences.

Experience

  • Professional experience in lateral leadership or team coordination
  • Experience in the startup ecosystem or innovation management
  • Professional experience in project coordination and reporting
  • Experience in business consulting or entrepreneurial advisory is desirable
  • Experience in applying for third-party funding is an advantage
  • Proven track record in networking and ecosystem development
