Job Summary

This position at the Technical University of Dresden (TUD) offers a unique opportunity to advance the field of digitalization in forestry. Based at the Tharandt campus, the successful candidate will work within the Chair of Digitalized Forestry Processes and Systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting scientific research, contributing to teaching programs, and helping to establish the new 'XR Forest Lab TUD'. You will be involved in applying for national and international research projects, supervising student theses, and presenting findings at international conferences. The role is specifically designed to support your own academic qualification, typically a PhD. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master's or equivalent) in Forest Sciences, Geoinformatics, Computer Science, Surveying, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in scientific research and teaching
  • Experience in geodata processing and forestry digitalization
  • Experience in programming with at least one scripting language
  • Experience in applying for research projects is preferred
  • Experience with Digital Twins, AI, or AR/VR/XR technologies is an advantage
  • Experience in supervising academic theses

Additional

  • Driving license (Class B, BE) and STS Drone License preferred. The position is based in Tharandt and is initially for three years with an option for extension. Candidates must be willing to pursue further academic qualification (PhD).
