Job Summary

This role involves the sustainable management of approximately 950 municipal properties for the City of Karlsruhe's Office of Building Construction and Facility Management. As a key member of the Property Management department, you will oversee the technical lifecycle of electrical systems, specifically focusing on telecommunications and information technology installations. Your day-to-day responsibilities include planning and supervising maintenance work, managing external service providers from bidding to invoicing, and handling emergency troubleshooting. You will act as a technical lead for specific systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. The position offers the unique opportunity to shape the cityscape of Karlsruhe while working in a stable public service environment. You will collaborate closely with various municipal offices and external partners, managing both small-scale independent projects and supporting larger modernization initiatives. This is a permanent position available in full-time or part-time (tandem) capacity.

Required Skills

Education

State-certified Technician or Master Craftsman (Meister) in Electrical Engineering, specializing in telecommunications and information technology systems, or a comparable qualification. Certification according to DIN 14675 is required.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the construction and maintenance of telecommunications and IT systems
  • Experience in managing technical facilities and handling emergency response protocols
  • Proven track record in project phases including bidding, contract awarding, and invoice verification
  • Experience working with relevant technical standards, norms, and VOB regulations
  • Experience in coordinating with external service providers and municipal departments

  • Must be willing to participate in on-call duty (Rufbereitschaft) outside of core working hours. Proficiency in German at C1 level is explicitly required.
