Job Summary

This full-time postdoctoral position at the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) focuses on the DFG-funded 'MetaBoxWeb' project within the Department of Freshwater Ecology. Based in Bad Saarow, the successful candidate will investigate the links between ecosystem metabolism (gross primary production and respiration) and food web structures. Day-to-day responsibilities include compiling and quality-controlling high-frequency sensor data, modeling aquatic metabolism using R packages like streamMetabolizer, and collaborating with other researchers to link metabolic regimes with consumer traits. This role is ideal for a scientist looking to contribute to functional indicators of freshwater health in the face of climate change. The position offers a 36-month fixed-term contract at the E13 salary level, providing an excellent environment for scientific development, 30 days of vacation, mobile work options, and flexible, family-friendly working hours within a young and aspiring technical university.
