Job Summary

As a Research Scientist at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), you will join the Neutron Spectrometry working group to advance the field of neutron radiation measurement. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve the operation and further development of the Bonner Sphere Spectrometer (NEMUS), designing new measurement channels for high-energy neutrons, and optimizing automated data analysis workflows. You will perform numerical simulations of neutron radiation in environmental contexts and manage commercial sensing systems like Cosmic-Ray Neutron Sensing (CRNS). This role is ideal for a PhD-level physicist who enjoys a blend of hands-on laboratory work, complex numerical modeling, and metrological quality assurance. The position offers a unique opportunity to work at a world-leading national metrology institute, contributing to international measurement standards within a highly collaborative scientific environment in Braunschweig.
