Job Summary

This role involves the financial and administrative management of international EU-funded development projects in the Caribbean and Namibia. Working for Germany's national metrology institute (PTB), you will be responsible for continuous financial monitoring, annual budget planning, and regular financial reporting, particularly for audits. Your daily activities will include bookkeeping, fund monitoring, and documenting project records. You will also assist with contracts, procurement processes, and provide organizational support for project activities. A key part of the role is regular communication with international project partners in English. This position is ideal for professionals with a strong background in accounting and a desire to work in a multicultural, development-oriented environment. The role offers the chance to manage complex financial processes within a leading international research institution.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Administrative Sciences (Bachelor/Diploma) or a comparable commercial degree. Alternatively, a completed vocational training (e.g., Office Management, Administrative Assistant, or Foreign Language Correspondent) combined with extensive professional experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in financial management and administration of EU-funded projects
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in accounting and bookkeeping
  • Experience working with international development projects (specifically EU projects) is preferred
  • Long-term relevant professional experience in the financial sector if applying with a vocational qualification
  • Proven experience in organizational support and project documentation
