Job Summary
As an SAP Administrator at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), Germany's national metrology institute, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of a future SAP S/4HANA system landscape. Your day-to-day activities involve the installation, monitoring, and performance optimization of SAP systems, alongside managing SAP transports and documentation. A significant portion of the role focuses on user management and the administration of SAP roles and permissions within the Fiori environment. You will also provide 2nd level support and contribute to technical projects such as upgrades, migrations, and roll-outs. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a leading research environment, actively shaping technological change by maintaining modern IT infrastructure. The role is based in Braunschweig and offers a permanent contract with a collaborative international atmosphere.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (FH Diploma/Bachelor) in Computer Science or a comparable field; alternatively, completed IT vocational training or relevant professional experience for career changers.
Experience
- Professional experience in IT administration and conceptual planning
- Practical experience in application maintenance and support
- Experience working with Linux and Windows operating systems
- Professional experience in SAP administration is preferred
- Experience with database systems, specifically MaxDB or HANADB
