Job Summary
This role is based within the Experimental Trauma Surgery department, focusing on the cutting-edge intersection of bone regeneration, implant development, and 3D bioprinting. As a Research Associate, you will engage in the innovative manufacturing of individualized implants through interdisciplinary collaboration. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve designing, evaluating, and refining custom implants using advanced 3D printing technologies and exploring new biomaterials such as polymers and hydrogels. The position is ideal for a motivated researcher looking to contribute to projects involving osteoinductive materials and adult stem cells. Offered as a part-time position (19.25 hours/week) with a fixed term until September 2028 and the possibility of extension, it provides a unique opportunity to conduct high-level scientific research within a university hospital setting while benefiting from professional development programs and a collaborative academic environment.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant scientific or engineering field (required for E13 TV-L classification and doctoral candidacy).
Experience
- Professional experience in 3D printing or bioprinting methodologies
- Experience in researching new implant materials such as polymers or ceramic materials
- Foundational experience in cell and molecular biological investigation methods
- Experience in independent and goal-oriented scientific problem solving
