Job Summary

This role involves leading the Internal ICT department (ZA 3.1) for the Central Police Services of North Rhine-Westphalia (LZPD NRW) in Duisburg. As the department head, you will be responsible for the professional and disciplinary leadership of a team dedicated to the organization, administration, and procurement of in-house information and communication technology across statewide police facilities. Your daily activities will include coordinating technical topics, preparing strategic reports for senior leadership, managing personnel selection, and steering ICT processes. This position is unique as it places you at the heart of public safety digitalization, offering a secure public service contract with flexible working hours and the opportunity to shape the technological infrastructure used by the NRW police force. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Computer Science, Administrative Informatics, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Business Informatics, or Business Administration with an IT focus. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in the same fields with at least three years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Business Administration with a focus on IT
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience if holding a Bachelor's degree
  • Leadership experience in a professional setting is highly desirable
  • Experience in IT project management and structured planning
  • Proven experience in preparing technical reports and decision-making documents
