Job Summary

This role involves the administration, configuration, and operation of Voice over IP (VoIP) systems and central control center technology for the Rhineland-Palatinate Police. Day-to-day, you will be responsible for analyzing and resolving technical faults, planning system migrations, and ensuring the security of communication infrastructures across approximately 130 locations. You will act as a technical liaison between departments and external service providers, working with Session Border Controllers (SBC) and Unified Communications (UC) solutions. This position is particularly attractive for those looking to modernize critical public safety infrastructure while enjoying the stability of the public sector. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Computer Science, Communications Engineering, or a related field; alternatively, a completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration with several years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the administration and operation of VoIP and IT infrastructures
  • Extensive experience in configuring and managing Session Border Controllers (SBC) and firewalls
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting and analyzing network traffic using tools like Wireshark
  • Experience in the modernization and migration of telecommunications systems
  • Experience with IT service management systems and ticket handling
  • Experience with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
