Job Summary

This role involves the technical and tactical management of nationwide telephony and communication systems for the Rhineland-Palatinate Police. Working within the Central Technology department (ZLI 4) in Mainz, you will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and 2nd level support of telecommunications systems, specifically focusing on UNIFY OpenScape 4000 and VoIP infrastructures. A significant part of the role includes modernizing communication technology across approximately 130 locations, integrating Unified Communications (UC) solutions, and managing system faults according to ITIL standards. You will act as a vital link between police departments, state data services, and external providers. Required Skills

Education

University of Applied Sciences degree or Bachelor's degree in Communications Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, or a similar field; alternatively, a completed vocational training as an IT System Electronics Technician with relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the administration of nationwide telecommunications systems
  • Several years of relevant professional experience required if applying with a vocational qualification (IT System Electronics Technician)
  • Experience in 2nd level support and fault management according to ITIL
  • Experience in the configuration and operation of VoIP infrastructures
  • Experience in project planning and procurement of hardware and software components
