Job Summary

This role is based within the Special Forces Department of the Rhineland-Palatinate Police in Mainz. As a Counter-UAS Engineer, you will work within the Operational-Technical Center (OTZ) to plan, develop, and integrate technical solutions for drone detection and defense. Your daily responsibilities include designing sensor systems, performing technical risk assessments, and creating detailed documentation and data sheets. You will also be responsible for the technical commissioning, maintenance, and optimization of existing and future cUAS technologies to ensure high reliability and security standards. This position is unique as it supports police operations against organized and violent crime by providing cutting-edge electronic reconnaissance and defense capabilities. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a comparable engineering degree with an IT focus.

Experience

  • Professional experience in planning, developing, and integrating technical solutions for (c)UAS
  • Practical experience in sensor system design and technical risk assessment
  • Experience in technical maintenance and troubleshooting of complex electronic components
  • Proven expertise in high-frequency and radar technologies
  • Experience in creating technical manuals and data sheets
