Job Summary

As a Senior IT Service Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the digital infrastructure of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). Based in Wittmund, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of IT and telecommunications services, including the analysis and resolution of hardware and software faults across PC, telephony, LAN, and WAN environments. Your daily activities will involve performing 'Install, Move, Add, Change' (IMAC) tasks, commissioning hardware, and providing on-site user instruction. You will also participate in project rollouts, infrastructure migrations, and technical documentation within ticket systems and CMDBs. This position is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys technical field service and wants to contribute to national security. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training in IT or Communication Technology (e.g., IT Systems Electronics Technician) or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in IT, telecommunications, or network environments
  • Professional experience in troubleshooting and operating analog telecommunications systems
  • Proven experience in project execution for public sector or industrial clients
  • Professional experience using ticket systems and knowledge databases
  • Experience in performing on-site technical services (IMAC)

Additional

  • Valid Class B driver's license and willingness to travel (mobility) are required. Must be willing to participate in regular on-call standby shifts. Qualification as a 'Qualified Person' for testing work equipment according to VDE 0701-0702 is preferred.
