Job Summary
As a Junior DWDM Engineer, you will be responsible for the configuration and integration of network elements within optical transport systems. Your daily activities involve setting parameters such as IP addresses and gateways, ensuring correct physical connections in coordination with field technicians, and importing standard configurations. You will play a critical role in network management by integrating elements into management systems, monitoring for alarms, and performing necessary troubleshooting. This position is unique as it offers specialized training from product specialists at ZTE HQ and involves high-level Level 2 vendor support within a 24/7 service helpdesk environment. It is an ideal role for a graduate looking to build a career in telecommunications infrastructure, offering exposure to complex network planning and incident management in a dynamic, international setting.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor's or higher) in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or an equivalent field of study.
Experience
- Professional experience or academic background in telecommunications with a focus on transport networks
- Experience in configuring network parameters and hardware activation
- Experience working with network management systems and alarm monitoring
- Experience in a 24/7 service helpdesk or Level 2 support environment is preferred
- Professional experience in shift work and on-call environments
Languages
Additional
- Must be willing and able to work night shifts and on-call rotations. Proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) is explicitly required at a business level. Location is in the Düsseldorf area.
