This leadership role involves managing the financial operations for the City of Potsdam's Fire Department. You will be responsible for the strategic financial management of the department, including budget planning, preparation, and execution. A key part of the role involves the billing and settlement processes for fire and rescue services, where you will develop strategies to increase cost recovery and draft legal statutes. Day-to-day, you will lead and motivate a dedicated team, ensuring personnel and organizational goals are met. You will also act as a key negotiator with health insurance associations and other service providers. Required Skills

Education

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in public administration is preferred
  • Experience in financial administration, specifically budget management
  • Experience in administrative work and legal application of budgetary laws
  • Experience in fire protection services or rescue service billing is desirable
