Job Summary

This role involves shaping the future of Brandenburg's forests by contributing to the research project 'Development of Forest Development Types (WET) - Dynamization of Site Maps.' Working for the Brandenburg State Forestry Enterprise (LFB) in Eberswalde, you will focus on modeling climate-change-induced changes in moisture regimes and groundwater surfaces. Your day-to-day will include preparing moisture forecasts, conducting field work for soil and vegetation analysis, and publishing scientific findings. This position is ideal for a researcher passionate about environmental protection and forestry, offering a secure public service contract until December 2028. Required Skills

Education

Master of Science or University Diploma in Forestry, Geoecology, Geosciences, Biology, Landscape Ecology, Hydrology, or Hydrogeology. A Doctorate (PhD) is considered an advantage.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in forest site mapping, specifically based on North-East German Lowland instructions (SEA)
  • Professional experience in soil science, vegetation science, and near-surface hydrology
  • Practical experience in field-based data collection and environmental surveying
  • Experience in evaluating scientific datasets and utilizing database systems
  • Experience in interdisciplinary scientific work and public relations/training

  • Valid Class B driver's license and willingness to drive for work; physical fitness for independent field work and multi-day business trips within Brandenburg; willingness to undergo further training in site modeling.
