Job Summary

This role involves the strategic management and coordination of extracurricular environmental education and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) within the Ministry for Climate Protection, Agriculture, Rural Areas and Environment of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The successful candidate will oversee the State Teaching Center for Nature Conservation, manage funding guidelines, and coordinate public relations efforts. A significant portion of the role focuses on the strategic direction of the Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ), including financial planning, budget management, and liaison with approval authorities. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape sustainability initiatives at a state level, working closely with zoos, wildlife parks, and various committees. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor's or equivalent) in Natural Sciences, Public Administration, or a related field; alternatively, qualification for the higher intermediate civil service (Laufbahngruppe 2, erstes Einstiegsamt).

Experience

  • Professional experience in public administration, preferably in the fields of environmental education, sustainability, or climate protection
  • Experience in managing funding and administrative supervision of public institutions
  • Experience in coordinating public relations and committee work
  • Experience in handling budgetary matters and procurement, particularly involving European funds
