Job Summary

As a Specialist for Strategy, Budget, and Vendor Management, you will join the P20 program, the largest modernization and digitalization initiative within the German police IT landscape. Working directly at the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) in Berlin, you will take professional responsibility for the program's budgetary processes, medium-term financial planning, and vendor management. Your day-to-day tasks involve advising program leadership on strategic financial questions, drafting complex contracts and cooperation agreements, and coordinating tasks within an agile, multi-project environment. This role is unique as it offers the opportunity to shape the digital transformation of national security infrastructure. The position is a fixed-term appointment until December 2028, suitable for professionals with a background in economics or administrative sciences who enjoy working at the intersection of public administration, finance, and large-scale IT projects.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Master's, Magister, or University Diploma) in Administrative Sciences, Economics with a focus on Finance, or a comparable scientific field of study.

Experience

  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in a related field
  • Professional experience in budget management and financial planning
  • Experience in managing and controlling external service providers/vendors
  • Experience working within IT projects or digital transformation programs
  • Experience in public administration or government ministry environments

  • The position involves a direct secondment to the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) in Berlin until December 31, 2028. Candidates must be willing to undertake occasional planned business trips within Germany (rarely exceeding three days).
