Job Summary

This role offers a unique opportunity to join the 'ctd.qmat' Cluster of Excellence at TU Dresden, a globally recognized center for research in quantum materials. As a Research Associate and Doctoral Candidate, you will contribute to cutting-edge research in topological states of matter, focusing on areas such as correlated electron systems, unconventional superconductivity, or topological photonics. Your day-to-day activities will involve material synthesis, crystal growth, thermodynamic measurements, or numerical simulations depending on your specialization in experimental physics, theoretical physics, or inorganic chemistry. The position is designed to support your professional development toward a PhD. You will work in a highly interdisciplinary environment, collaborating with associated research groups and supporting student theses. Required Skills

Education

Very good university degree (Master's or equivalent), preferably in Physics or Chemistry.

Experience

  • Professional experience in fundamental research
  • Experience with experiments or modeling of topological or magnetic materials is preferred
  • Experience with photonic micro- and nanostructures is preferred
  • Experience in supervising or supporting student theses (Bachelor/Master) is expected

  • The position is fixed-term for 3 years. Working hours are between 50% and 75% of a full-time position. Candidates must be eligible for a PhD program.
