This role is part of the 'ctd.qmat' Cluster of Excellence at TU Dresden, a prestigious research environment focusing on the complexity, topology, and dynamics of quantum materials. As a Postdoctoral Research Associate, you will engage in cutting-edge research across experimental solid-state physics, theoretical solid-state physics, or inorganic chemistry. Your day-to-day activities will involve synthesizing novel materials, crystal growth, measuring thermodynamic properties under extreme conditions, or conducting numerical simulations and ab-initio investigations. Beyond research, you will collaborate closely with associated working groups and supervise student theses (Bachelor/Master). This position is ideal for researchers seeking to pursue further academic qualifications, such as a Habilitation, within a globally recognized center of excellence. Required Skills

Education

University degree and a PhD (Doctorate), preferably in Physics or Chemistry.

Experience

  • Professional experience in fundamental research within physics or chemistry
  • Experience in modeling or experimental work with topological or magnetic materials
  • Experience with photonic micro- and nanostructures
  • Demonstrated experience in scientific collaboration and team-based research environments
  • Experience in supervising student academic work (Bachelor/Master level)
