Job Summary

As a Postdoctoral Scientist at the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) in Heidelberg, you will operate at the intersection of clinical application and high-level research. Your daily work involves analyzing high-dimensional data, including next-generation sequencing, epigenomic, and proteomic data, to identify targetable cancer lesions and perform pharmacogene genotyping. You will provide clinically relevant interpretations that directly influence personalized treatment recommendations discussed in weekly molecular tumor boards. Beyond clinical diagnostics, you will contribute to a quality management system (ISO 15189), participate in an EU-funded multinational project, and develop automated workflows for data analysis. This role is highly interdisciplinary, requiring close collaboration with molecular biologists and clinicians. It offers a unique opportunity to see scientific discoveries translated into immediate patient benefits within a world-class research environment, supported by the DKFZ International Postdoc Program and state-of-the-art infrastructure.
