Job Summary
This role at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) involves performing high-level bioinformatic analyses on transcriptomic, genomic, and epigenomic datasets to study soft-tissue sarcomas. Day-to-day, you will develop and harmonize standardized data analysis pipelines for mutation calling, single-cell RNA-seq, and CRISPR screens. You will work within a highly collaborative, international environment, integrating large-scale datasets and creating user-friendly applications for data exploration. Beyond technical execution, you will play a key role in mentoring PhD students and postdocs on bioinformatics workflows. Required Skills
Education
Master's or PhD degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, computer science, physics, molecular biotechnology, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Professional experience in bioinformatics training specifically in transcriptomics, epigenomics, or genomics
- Extensive experience with scripting languages including Python, R, and Bash
- Proven experience in common bioinformatics software and database access
- Experience in developing and harmonizing data analysis pipelines
- Experience in large-scale data integration and generating user-friendly data applications
- Experience in training or mentoring others in basic bioinformatics workflows

Additional
