Job Summary

This role at Saarland University's Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science involves taking primary responsibility for system design and architecture. You will be responsible for the planning, installation, and administration of complex networks primarily based on Linux, while also supporting Windows and Mac OS workstations. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Master's or University Diploma) in Computer Science or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the installation and administration of Linux operating systems
  • Experience in system design, project planning, and IT security architecture
  • Experience in a university or research environment preferred
  • Experience with server services such as NFS, Postfix, Cyrus, LDAP, and Kerberos
  • Experience with virtualization technology, specifically Proxmox
  • Experience in IT procurement and technical specification development
