This high-level leadership role involves steering the financial and economic strategy for a major healthcare and social services network in Cologne, including LVR clinics and research institutes. As the Head of Department, you will define uniform standards for financial accounting, annual financial statements, and risk management across multiple facilities. You will lead budget negotiations with payers, oversee investment financing, and develop advanced controlling instruments and reporting systems. Required Skills

Education

Master’s degree, Magister, or University Diploma in Administrative Science, Business Law, or Business Administration; OR First State Examination in Law; OR qualification for high-level civil service (Laufbahngruppe 2, 2. Einstiegsamt).

Experience

  • At least 3 years of leadership experience with personnel responsibility
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in negotiating hospital budgets
  • Professional experience in financial management or controlling within a psychiatric hospital setting
  • Extensive experience in target-setting and performance controlling with executive staff
  • Proven experience in advising political committees and managing complex financial change processes
  • Deep knowledge of hospital financing law and PPP systems
