Job Summary

This role offers a unique opportunity to join the CAVECORE European research network as a PhD Researcher focused on developing innovative hybrid machine learning control systems for modular conveyor technology. Day-to-day, you will research, implement, and validate algorithms on real production systems and embedded software platforms. You will analyze control strategies for intelligent intralogistics systems, publish your findings in international journals, and complete your doctoral dissertation. The position is highly collaborative, involving close cooperation with industrial partners and academic institutions across Europe, including mandatory research stays (secondments) in Bielefeld and York. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in software development using C++ and Python
  • Experience in developing complex software systems and robotics applications
  • Maximum of four years of research experience after obtaining a Master's degree (MSCA requirement)
  • No previous doctoral degree completed
  • Experience with ROS2 and simulation techniques is required
