Job Summary

As a Control Systems Specialist at Frankfurt Airport, you will be responsible for the maintenance and continuous development of the control architecture for one of Europe's largest baggage handling systems, spanning approximately 95 kilometers and 700 controllers. Your daily responsibilities include PLC software programming and commissioning using Siemens, Schneider, and AEG systems, as well as configuring frequency converters from SEW EURODRIVE and other manufacturers. You will serve as a critical technical resource, providing 2nd and 3rd level support for complex troubleshooting and contributing to the electrical planning of new installations and system optimizations. This role is unique due to the massive scale of the infrastructure and the opportunity to work at a major international aviation hub. You will also manage interfaces with SCADA and cell-controller systems while ensuring quality control for external supplier software. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Fachhochschule/Hochschule) in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Control or Automation Technology, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in PLC software programming, specifically with Siemens and Schneider systems.
  • Experience in the conception, planning, commissioning, and maintenance of large-scale machinery or conveyor systems.
  • Experience in the implementation and validation of safety control systems (Emergency Stop functions).
  • Professional experience in diagnosing faults within complex, networked industrial environments.
  • Experience in electrical planning for plant construction and optimization.

Additional
