Job Summary

This role involves the technical management and operation of the outdoor experimental field and indoor laboratories at the University of Bremen's Department of Communications Engineering. You will be responsible for implementing, testing, and conducting proof-of-concepts for cutting-edge technologies like 5G and 6G. Day-to-day tasks include leading practical implementation activities, supervising students and doctoral candidates, and supporting research projects funded by the DFG, EU, and ESA. You will also design and set up new laboratory experiments for student practicals. This position is unique because it offers a bridge between fundamental research and practical application in mobile, industrial, and space communication systems. Required Skills

Education

Above-average University Degree (Bachelor or FH-Diploma) in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Communications or Information Technology.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in communications or information technology
  • Proven experience in SDR implementations, prototyping, and testing environments
  • Initial experience in leading development teams and managing projects
  • Experience in creating technical project reports and documentation
  • Preferred experience collaborating with international partners (EU, ESA projects)
