Job Summary

This role involves the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of periscope and optronic systems for the German Navy. Working at the Naval Arsenal in Kiel, you will perform troubleshooting and commissioning on ships, boats, and land-based facilities. The day-to-day work is physically demanding, requiring activities in confined spaces, at heights, and participation in sea voyages. You will be responsible for technical acceptance tests and ensuring the operational readiness of complex optical-electronic equipment. This position is unique as it offers a stable career within the public service (TVöD E8) while providing specialized technical training that may take place abroad. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems (Elektroniker für Geräte und Systeme) or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • At least 2 years of professional experience in the maintenance of electronic systems.
  • Specific experience in repairing electronic systems on ships, boats, or naval land facilities.
  • Experience working in specialized environments such as confined spaces or at heights.
  • Experience or willingness to participate in multi-day business trips and sea voyages.
