Job Summary
As an Electronics Technician for the German Navy, you will play a critical role in maintaining the operational readiness of naval vessels and shore installations. Your daily responsibilities include the maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of complex command and weapon control systems, as well as sonar equipment. This hands-on role involves working on ships and boats, performing repairs, commissioning systems, and conducting final inspections of electronic components. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Information and Systems Technology, Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems, or a comparable technical qualification.
Experience
- At least 2 years of professional experience in the maintenance of electronic systems on ships, boats, or naval shore installations.
- Professional experience in performing maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of command and weapon control systems.
- Experience in the commissioning and acceptance testing of electronic modules and systems.
Languages
Additional
- Must be willing to undergo a Level Ü2 Sab security clearance. Requires a Class B driver's license (and willingness to obtain a Bundeswehr license). Must be physically fit for sea service (MariMedV) and willing to undergo specialized medical examinations (TUKV). Position involves regular domestic and international travel, including stays on board naval vessels. Willingness to work in confined spaces and at heights is mandatory.
