Job Summary
This role is based within the Patent and Trade Mark Centre / Design Center Baden-Württemberg at the Regional Council of Stuttgart. As an Innovation and Technology Promotion Officer, you will serve as a key point of contact for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), startups, and inventors regarding intellectual property rights. Your daily responsibilities include conducting technical analyses of applications for the State Innovation Prize and the Artur Fischer Inventor Prize to ensure they meet technical standards. You will also design and lead information events, develop support formats for startups in collaboration with state initiatives, and work closely with universities and chambers of commerce. This position is ideal for someone with a strong technical or scientific background who enjoys communicating complex concepts and wants to contribute to the future viability of innovative companies in Germany. The role offers a secure public service position with excellent work-life balance and flexible working models in the heart of Stuttgart.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or University Diploma in Physics, Engineering, or Natural Sciences with a technical focus. Eligibility for the higher administrative service (höherer Dienst) in fields such as Environment, Physics, or Chemistry.
Experience
- Professional experience in technical or scientific analysis
- Experience in evaluating technical compliance and scientific principles
- Experience in conceptualizing and conducting professional information events
- Experience working with SMEs, startups, or academic institutions is preferred
- Proven ability in scientific research or academic work (demonstrated via PhD is an advantage)

Additional
- Must possess a valid degree recognition for Germany if the degree was obtained abroad. The position is based in Stuttgart at the 'Haus der Wirtschaft'. Working hours are 39.5 to 41 hours per week depending on employment status (Tariff/Civil Servant).
