Job Summary

This role is based within the Department of Urology at University Hospital Essen, specifically within the Grünwald lab as part of the international CRITERIA consortium. As a Biotechnologist, you will work at the intersection of precision pathology and experimental systems biology to investigate immunotherapy resistance in kidney cancer. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying spatial tissue 'histo-archetypes', performing histology-guided laser capture microdissection, and integrating multimodal OMICs datasets. You will also functionally validate findings using in vitro cell models and patient-derived fragment cultures. This position is particularly attractive as it offers a fully funded 3-year PhD opportunity within a multidisciplinary, international collaboration.
