Job Summary

The Institute for Federal Real Estate (BImA) is seeking an Operations Engineer to join their Facility Management division in Berlin. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical management of high-profile federal properties, including ministries and research institutions. Day-to-day duties involve ensuring operational safety, managing technical service providers, and overseeing the maintenance and optimization of building systems. You will act as the client representative for construction measures, prepare tenders for national and European-wide services, and handle troubleshooting for building automation systems. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor/Diploma) in Building Services, Electrical Engineering, Supply Engineering, Technical Facility Management, or a comparable field; alternatively, a state-certified Technician qualification with relevant experience.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in the operation of technical systems, specifically within building construction and technical installations (DIN 276)
  • Proven experience in implementing and ensuring operator responsibility (Betreiberverantwortung)
  • Practical experience in the tendering, awarding, and management of technical external services
  • Experience in planning, organizing, and controlling technical building management processes
  • At least 3 years of engineering-level experience required if applying with a Technician qualification
