Job Summary

As an Operations Engineer at the Institute for Federal Real Estate (BImA), you will be responsible for the technical management and operational safety of a prestigious building portfolio in Berlin, including federal ministries and supreme authorities. Your day-to-day work involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations, steering technical service providers, and planning maintenance or modernization measures for building equipment. You will act as the client representative for construction projects, prepare tender documents for national and European bids, and continuously optimize the efficiency of technical systems. This role is particularly attractive due to its high level of responsibility in managing climate-neutral real estate for the German government, offering long-term job security within the public sector, flexible working hours, and the potential for a significant specialist allowance of up to €1,500 per month.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor/Diploma) in Building Services, Electrical Engineering, Supply Engineering, Technical Facility Management, or a comparable field; alternatively, a qualification as a State-Certified Technician with relevant experience.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in technical building management or technical facility management is preferred
  • Professional experience in planning and implementing maintenance processes for technical building equipment
  • Experience in steering and controlling external technical service providers
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience required if applying with a State-Certified Technician qualification
  • Experience in applying relevant regulations and standards such as HOAI, VOB, and BetrSichV
