Job Summary

This role involves working within the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) of Schleswig-Holstein, specifically within the Mobile Task Force (MEK) department. As an IT Specialist in the Operational Technology unit, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of critical IT infrastructure, including the design, implementation, and administration of high-availability systems, databases, and complex computer networks. Beyond standard administrative tasks, you will develop custom software applications and support third-party systems used in police operations. A unique aspect of this position is the direct involvement in operational missions, where you will provide technical support to tactical forces in the field. Additionally, you will act as a technical instructor, planning and conducting training sessions for colleagues and at national workshops. This position offers a secure public service contract with flexible working hours and the opportunity to contribute to public safety in a highly specialized technical environment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (at least Bachelor's) in Computer Science, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable technical field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT infrastructure, database administration, or software development
  • Experience in system integration and the fusion of proprietary data systems
  • Experience in IT security based on BSI IT-Grundschutz standards is preferred
  • 3 years of practical professional experience in a similar field is required for higher salary grouping (E12)
  • Experience in providing technical training or acting as a lecturer/referent

  • Must hold or be able to obtain a SÜ2 security clearance. Valid driver's license required. Willingness to participate in operational measures, on-call shifts, and overtime, including weekends. Physical ability to carry heavy equipment in the field and across multiple floors. Willingness to travel for multi-day business trips.
