Job Summary

This position offers an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious neuroscientist to lead a research program focused on honeybee neurobiology at the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will investigate how social and non-social reinforcements influence memory consolidation and neural reactivation during sleep. Your day-to-day work involves designing behavioral learning paradigms, performing in vivo calcium imaging, and utilizing Python for quantitative analysis of neural activity and sleep stages. A unique aspect of this role is the focus on cross-species computational modeling in collaboration with zebra finch researchers. The position is designed to foster scientific independence, providing a clear pathway for candidates aiming to become future Group Leaders or Principal Investigators. You will work within an internationally recognized, interdisciplinary environment that provides excellent infrastructure and active career development support, all while contributing to high-impact publications and international conferences.
