Job Summary

This role involves serving as a strategic advisor and coordinator within the Executive Office of the Federal Administration Office (BVA) in Cologne. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-level decisions, advising the agency's leadership, and analyzing strategically relevant issues. Day-to-day tasks include planning and following up on significant operational meetings, ensuring transparent communication between leadership and internal departments, and coordinating with other federal authorities and external stakeholders. A key focus of the position is supporting the implementation of strategic goals and overseeing digitalization and transformation projects. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master or University Diploma) in Economics, Social Sciences, or Administrative Sciences (e.g., MPA, MPM, MBA) or qualification for the higher non-technical administrative service.

Experience

  • At least 1.5 years of professional experience in a responsible function managing complex projects or tasks, including stakeholder coordination in public administration.
  • At least 1.5 years of experience in the control, design, and implementation of digitalization or transformation projects.
  • Proven experience with planning and control processes in a high-level federal authority (e.g., Executive Staff, PMO, or Central Controlling).
  • Demonstrated experience in both agile and classical project management methodologies.

  • Must be eligible for the German higher civil service (Höherer Dienst). Work location is Cologne. Evidence of equivalence is required for foreign degrees. Position is available for both civil servants (up to A 14 BBesO) and salaried employees (E 13 TVöD).
