Job Summary

As an I&C (Instrumentation and Control) Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the industrialization of cathode material production for a leading chemical group. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve the planning, design, and project engineering of I&C systems for production plants. This includes selecting and specifying sensors, actuators, and process control systems, as well as coordinating with external service providers and internal departments. You will oversee the installation, commissioning, and acceptance phases, ensuring all systems meet strict safety standards such as ATEX and SIL. This position is unique for its focus on the battery materials sector, offering a future-proof role in a growing industry. You will work primarily in Weimar with regular travel to Bitterfeld-Wolfen, enjoying a high degree of autonomy within a professional environment that values family-friendly policies and continuous professional development.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, Mechatronics, or a comparable qualification (e.g., Measurement and Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Process Engineering).

Experience

  • Professional experience in I&C technology, preferably within industrial plant construction
  • Experience in the planning and design of I&C systems for process engineering plants
  • Proven experience handling P&ID flowcharts and creating technical documentation
  • Experience in the selection and specification of field devices, sensors, and automation systems
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional disciplines and external service providers
  • Practical experience using CAE tools such as EPLAN, WSCAD, or AutoCAD
