Job Summary

The Neuroimmune Systems Biology Lab at the University Medical Center Freiburg is offering a PhD position focused on the AD-OrganelleScan initiative. The successful candidate will investigate how organelle networks, specifically lysosomes and mitochondria, regulate brain homeostasis and contribute to neurodegeneration in Alzheimer’s disease. Day-to-day responsibilities include the isolation of organelles from brain cells, performing multiomic profiling, and conducting experimental validation to identify disease mechanisms. This role requires a strong background in molecular sciences and a high degree of intellectual curiosity.
