Job Summary

This role involves leading the National Firearms Register (NWR) unit within the Public Security division of the Federal Administration Office (BVA). As the head of a specialized team, you will be responsible for the strategic and conceptual development of central IT applications that contribute directly to Germany's digital sovereignty and public safety. Your day-to-day activities include managing a team of five professionals, coordinating with external service providers, and acting as the Single Point of Contact (SPoC) for internal and external stakeholders. You will oversee budget planning, project milestones, and the full lifecycle of IT projects from requirement analysis to commissioning. Required Skills

  • At least 2 years of professional experience in IT software development and agile methodologies for candidates with degrees in other fields (Science, Engineering, Administration, or Economics)
  • Experience in leading teams and managing professional staff
  • Proven experience in managing complex IT projects and technical service providers
  • Experience working within agile frameworks and using associated tools like JIRA and Confluence
