Job Summary

As an IT Architect for the City of Stuttgart's Office for Digitalization, Organization, and IT (DO.IT), you will serve as a central figure in advancing the city's digital infrastructure. Your daily responsibilities will involve conducting systematic requirement analyses, designing technical implementation strategies, and creating operational concepts for the municipal data platform. You will be responsible for integrating this platform into existing urban IT infrastructure while coordinating with external service providers to ensure security and governance standards are met. This role is unique for its blend of architectural design and hands-on development, as you will also create smaller software applications to ensure system scalability and future-proofing. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Foreign degrees must have official German recognition/equivalence and certified translations.

Experience

  • Professional experience in technical implementation and operational concepts for data platforms
  • Practical experience with OpenShift and relational database management
  • Several years of relevant professional experience required for candidates without a primary Computer Science degree
  • Experience in coordinating external service providers and managing complex networked systems
  • Experience with complex municipal or public sector structures is preferred
