Job Summary

This role is situated within the Office for Digitalization, Organization, and IT (DO.IT) for the City of Stuttgart. As a key member of the Active Data Technology team, you will be responsible for the strategic development and implementation of the city-wide network concept and security architecture, ensuring compliance with BSI security standards. Your daily activities will include conducting systematic requirement analyses, creating technical concepts for network strategy, and managing complex network projects. You will also handle EU-wide procurement tenders, represent the city in professional committees, and develop custom tools or interfaces to resolve specific network issues. This position is ideal for professionals who enjoy a blend of high-level strategic planning and hands-on technical problem-solving within a large-scale public infrastructure. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a comparable field of study; alternatively, a completed IT vocational training with several years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the planning and operation of complex network environments
  • Experience in project work and moderating working groups
  • Proven track record in developing and presenting technical concepts
  • Experience in the municipal or public sector environment is preferred
  • Several years of relevant professional experience if applying with a vocational IT background rather than a degree
