Job Summary

This position is part of the ALIGN project, which focuses on the ethical, legal, and social aspects of genome editing (GE) in plants. As a Research Associate at the Institute for Biosafety in Plant Biotechnology, you will be responsible for conducting systematic literature reviews using CADIMA software to track scientific developments and market trends in plant genome editing. Your role involves extracting and analyzing data on plant species, modified traits, and GE methods, while also mapping and comparing international regulatory frameworks against proposed EU regulations. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to share findings and contribute to scientific publications and reports. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of biotechnology and international policy within a prestigious federal research institute. The position is a part-time (25.35 hours/week) fixed-term contract for up to three years, offering a professional international research environment and flexible working conditions.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree, University Diploma, or equivalent in Biology, Agricultural Sciences, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in conducting systematic literature searches
  • Experience in data extraction and processing from scientific publications
  • Theoretical or practical expertise in genome editing (GE) of plants
