Job Summary
As an IT Systems Engineer for the City of Stuttgart's Digitalization Office, you will be responsible for the technical planning, installation, and operation of the city's electronic file (E-Akte) platform. Your daily activities involve ensuring a stable and secure infrastructure by managing Windows-based server components and integrating document management systems (DMS) with central services such as backup solutions, directory services, and databases. You will collaborate closely with internal IT teams and external service providers to coordinate infrastructure delivery and perform system customizing. The role is ideal for technical professionals who enjoy complex system integration and want to contribute to the digital transformation of public administration. Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; alternatively, a completed vocational IT training (e.g., Fachinformatiker) with relevant work experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in Windows server administration and system integration
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience if applying with a vocational IT qualification
- Experience in integrating complex applications like Document Management Systems (DMS)
- Professional experience in public sector or complex administrative structures is preferred
- Experience with backup technologies and directory services
Languages
Additional
- German language certificate at C1 level required. Position is based in Stuttgart with options for mobile work/home office. Permanent full-time contract under the TVöD E11 pay scale.
