Job Summary

This role involves supporting the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) in the research and consultation sector for white-collar crime. As a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for the conception, implementation, and practical application of research projects aimed at developing evidence-based strategies and concepts to combat economic and financial crimes. Your daily activities will include monitoring crime trends, conducting qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and providing expert advice to various organizational units within the BKA and state police forces. You will also be tasked with building and maintaining national and international professional networks and delivering presentations on research findings. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master, Magister, or Diploma) in Economics, Business Administration, Political Economy, Finance, Controlling, or Sociology (with a focus on economic or organizational sociology).

Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience participating in criminalistic or criminological research projects
  • Professional experience in the field of white-collar or economic crime research
  • Experience in the scientific collection and analysis of empirical data from diverse sources
  • Experience in developing prevention strategies and conceptual frameworks

Additional

  • Must be a citizen or eligible for a security clearance according to § 8 SÜG. Willingness to undertake occasional business travel (approx. 5 times per year, 1-4 days duration). Candidates must pass a multi-stage selection process including a computer-based psychodiagnostic test and a structured interview with a written task.
